Benefit dinner planned for local artist who lost home due to fire

A benefit dinner has been planned for Jim and Shirley Baker. Jeanne Corbin let us know that they recently lost their home, belongings and many of Jim’s paintings in a fire. Jim, also known as, “The Western Artist” has been a Johnston County resident for years. Many of his works of art could be found in the Western Inn Diner in its day. The dinner is scheduled for Saturday, March 13th at 5:30 p.m. at the Connerville Community Center. Dinner is available by donation and we’re told it will be excellent! Please stop by if you can.
