Handi Shop, Tishomingo Inn vital to business community
This week’s Member Spotlight is on Tishomingo Handi Shop/Tish Inn. This establishment has new ownership that took over July 17, 2018 and has 4 full- and 1 part-time staff. The Handi Shop carries fishing equipment, pocketknives, auto products, hats, is a camping quick stop, has a beer cave, household items, an ATM, propane exchange, and the traditional convenience store items like snacks, drinks, and fuel. Live bait will be available soon.
The store also has a hot box and can serve pizza, wings, subs, and has a full taco bar that includes items like burritos, tacos, taco bowls, chicken salads, and nachos. Daily specials are available.
The Inn has 18 rooms, 7 single bed and 11 double bed. These rooms are well-priced at $55 and $65 per night respectively, and pets are allowed with an additional fee. Currently, employees of MG Dyess working on Midship Pipeline fill the inn. The liquor store section of the facility closed, with plans to convert the space into something usable in the future.
