Join us for Breakfast with Santa – Published in the Nov. 30 – Dec. 6 edition of the C-D

We hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving with friends and family – and a lot of good food! I think that Small Business Saturday went really well. Although the wind was bothersome, I was able to talk to several visitors, many from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, some from Chickasha and a large group from Ada. Nearly every person that I saw shopping on Main for those few hours had an SBS tote with them and I think it really helped to hand out our retail guide. It was a beautiful day to get shopping done in Tishomingo!

Please be reminded that the Johnston County EMS will have trucks at Sooner Foods and Dollar General for their annual Fill the Ambulance Toy and Food Drive on November 30 and December 1. All of the items donated go to local families in Johnston County. Anything helps. I also know that Mill Creek School and Landmark Bank of Tishomingo have their Angel Tree up, ready for your giving hearts to select an angel from.

Who’s ready for a pancake breakfast? We are so excited that our first Breakfast with Santa is THIS Saturday! Tickets are available anytime – if you get them in advance they are only $5 per person, they are $7 at the door. We have Santa, Mrs. Claus and several elves that will be available for great photos, an easy-peasy craft for the kids to do and take home for the Christmas tree, and a yummy breakfast planned. Come out to the Chickasaw Community Center on 6th Street Saturday morning to join the fun, and then go over to the INCA Training Center and have chili and cobbler! You can enter to bring the heat or bring the sweet and win prizes and bragging rights! Not a cook? Just go eat! Taste all of the entries and cast a vote – all proceeds benefit Toys For Tots in Johnston County.
We hope that you will also come out on Wednesday, December 6th at 6:00 p.m. for the lighting of the tree at the Johnston County Courthouse. The Living Windows event will begin shortly after will be fun for the whole family! Visit all the displays and enter to win a ham or turkey!

Just as an FYI, the Chamber is currently working on ballots for the election of new board members. They will go out with membership renewal forms on January 1. One thing that I hope to have accomplished is establishing sponsorship packages which will allow businesses to plan for events that they would like to be involved with early in the year. That way there are no last-minute surprise phone calls about event information. Any suggestions are appreciated.
