Member Spotlight Houser Furniture
This week’s Member Spotlight is on Houser Furniture! This business is currently owned by Troy and Carrie Golden and has been in business since 1978. Houser’s has proudly served Tishomingo, Johnston County and the greater Texoma area, starting out with just one building selling new and used furniture, appliances, and books. The company now works out of eight buildings in Tishomingo with over 20,000 square feet of showroom and warehouse space.
Houser Furniture carries everything you need to furnish your home including appliances, mattresses, and furniture for living rooms, bedrooms, dining areas, and more. Only the best is offered at Houser’s, with trusted brands like Whirlpool, Frigidaire, Crosley, Maytag, Ashley, Bassett, Justice and more.
Need service? No problem! Houser Furniture can service what they sell and prides themselves on excellent customers service. They offer both delivery and several financing options to make purchases, making your experience even easier. Each of Houser’s eight employees is willing and ready to lend a hand – Patti Bond, Linda Harris, Kami Elkins, Jan Hutchins, Benny McClendon, Kaleb Horne, Wesley Horne, and Seth Parish.
Houser’s supports many local organizations including the Johnston County Chamber of Commerce, Johnston County Public Schools, Tishomingo Fire Department, Murray State College, Stevy’s Run and Johnston County Reaching Out, to name a few. Their hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm, and Saturday from 10:00am-3:00pm. Check out their great website, houserfurniture.net, their Facebook page, or call 580-371-2225 with questions.

This weekend is the 32nd Annual Alfalfa Bill Century Bicycle Ride! The bicyclists will be all over the county – visiting Tishomingo, Coleman, Wapanucka, Milburn, the Refuge, Ravia, and Reagan. Please watch for them; slow down and go around! Many are travelling from across Oklahoma, Texas, and even from Arizona to ride, so let’s show them the hospitality that only Johnston County can! T-shirts are available to purchase – $15 for a great long-sleeve tee. Call 580-371-2175 with questions or to order!
We also have rescheduled Tishomingo Liquor Store’s 13th Anniversary ribbon cutting for Friday morning at 10:00am. We hope to see you there. There will also be a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Tishomingo Cemetery Restoration Celebration on Sunday, October 21st beginning at 2:00pm, hosted by the Tishomingo Development Team’s Cemetery Improvement Committee. Look for other event information on our calendar online!
