Quick Mart a longtime, vital member of local community – Published in the January 16-22 edition of the Johnston County Sentinel

This week’s Member Spotlight is on Quick Mart, which has been around for decades but has only had a few owners. Each of them has added their own touches to the menu. Mike Lovett introduced traditional deli items; Tom Lokey brought in fish and steak fingers; and current owner, Brad Lawley, has brought in rotisserie BBQ pork and burgers!

The deli currently includes burritos, egg rolls, pizza pockets, two flavors of corndogs, three different kinds of chicken strips, potato wedges, hot wings, potato munchers, mozzarella sticks, bone-in fried chicken, pizza sticks and chicken crispitos. They also have several breakfast items that are served from 5 – 10 a.m like biscuits, breakfast pizza, etc.; shrimp on Mondays; fish on Wednesdays; and steak fingers on Fridays. Hunt’s Brothers

The seating area started as a handful of booths in which high school kids would pile into on top of each other to eat their deli food. Eventually it was expanded in 2011 by Tom Lokey, to include a much larger seating area which includes free Wi-Fi and a TV. The expansion made room not only for more seating but for a beer cave, a larger office, extra storage and a second bathroom.

There are currently about 15 employees including Store Manager, Amy Dixon, Assistant Manager, Detra Smith, and Kitchen Manager, Hanna Golden.

Quick Mart is very well known for Annette’s Southern Sweet Tea, named in honor of previous Store Manager, Annette Biggs. The convenience store/eatery is expected to get an interior face lift at some point in 2020.

The business has donated and sponsored many Johnston County fundraisers and events, including athletic tournaments, medical expense fundraisers for community members, and has been a long-time member of the JCCC. In 2019, Quick Mart launched “The Santa Cause”, a gift/toy drive benefitting the children and teens currently in foster care in Johnston County and gave away Chamber Bucks as an incentive!

We greatly appreciate our partnership with Quick Mart and everything they do for the community and to serve the needs of their customers. You can learn more by visiting them at 702 W. Main Street in Tishomingo, Monday – Thursday, 5 a.m. to 11 p.m; Friday and Saturday, 5 a.m. to 12 a.m; Sunday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Please follow them on Facebook at @Quick Mart – Tishomingo.
