Sorry guys, it’s Mrs. Frazier now! – Published in the Nov. 2-9 edition of the C-D

I am incredibly pleased to announce that I am now a married woman! Over the weekend, Nick and I had a lovely ceremony and reception surrounded by friends and family. Being called Mrs. Frazier is going to take some getting used to but I couldn’t be more thrilled. Thank you to the Chamber Board for your support and to the many people who allowed us to borrow decorations and other items to make our day so special.

We hope that everyone enjoyed Trunk-or-Treat. It’s always a fun time on Main Street in Tishomingo!

Murray State College is in the midst of their week-long homecoming celebration. For a list of events, you can visit the Chamber community calendar online. One special event is the grand opening of the new Health Science building on campus. This will take place on Friday, November 3rd at 10:00 a.m. The public is invited to join legislators and MSC staff for the momentous occasion.

Saturday the 4th is the 2nd Annual ‘A Night Out With Emergency Responders’ at Boomarang Diner. Join in on the fun with EMS, Fire, and Law Enforcement staff as they raise money for this year’s Johnston County angel tree. Come from 4:00-8:00 p.m. – the laughs alone are worth it!

The Tish Development Team meets Tuesday the 7th for their monthly meeting at the Aggie Dining Room at noon. Also, the Tishomingo Wildlife Refuge will be closed the 8th and 9th for a controlled hunt.

That brings us to Veteran’s Day. It is extremely special that Johnston County will be having its first Veteran’s Day Parade this year! The parade is set to begin at the FBC at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 11th, going down Main Street and then ending at the Johnston County War Memorial, where there is an outstanding program planned. If you are a veteran, are related to or know one, or just appreciate their sacrifices, please be a part of the activities that day. You can contact Tammie Howard at 580-371-8716 for more information and on how to enter a float.

If you can’t make the parade or the program, head out to Blue! Sportsmen and women, children and spectators are invited to enjoy the festivities and trout derby at the Blue River Public Hunting and Fishing area on Saturday and Sunday, November 11th and 12th! There will be prizes for several categories and really great fellowship among fishermen and veterans. For more information, please call Scotty at 580-371-9288.

Don’t forget to submit your bid to name the 2017 Christmas Parade that will be Saturday, December 9th at 10:00 a.m. Please give me a call if you have any questions!
