The Stables in demand as area wedding venue – Published in the May 24-30 edition of the JC Sentinel

We hope that everyone is having a great week – this week’s Member Spotlight is on The Stables at Washita Farms! The Stables are in Mannsville, Oklahoma on Chapman Ranch, just down from Greasy Bend Bridge. The project began in February of 2017, led by the Chapman matriarch, Tracie, with the help of she and Eric’s children; Erica, Fred and wife Morgan, and Victoria. Located in a facility that was not being used on the ranch at the time, The Stables became a rustic, yet glamorous, addition to Mannsville as the family filled a need for the area – event venue.

Tracie said, “Our venue opened its doors in May of 2017 with a celebration of the Ranch’s 100th year.  We weren’t really set out to do weddings, but the interest came so we paired with Brides of Oklahoma and as they say, the rest is history.”  The Chapmans love to host weddings but can also help coordinate baby or wedding showers, corporate parties, birthday celebrations, reunions and more. Tours are available Monday through Thursdays, as the weekends are generally reserved for events.

The Stables features ‘The Saddle House’, a 3-bed, 2-bath home that can be reserved for wedding parties and guests for your event, hand-made farmhouse tables, chairs, indoor/outdoor accommodations, a sitting area, great views and plenty of Southern charm.

Staff recently finished hosting the 2nd Annual Farm to Table fundraiser for the Ardmore Main Street and Downtown Farmer’s Market.  It has raised over $8,000 and was awarded the 2018 Creative New Event for Main Street. They will also be partnering with Relay for Life in June for a fundraiser and have supported the JC Chamber Banquet.

You can learn more about The Stables at Washita Farms by going to www.thestablesatwf.com, visiting their Facebook and Instagram pages, or by calling 580-221-1803. Trust me, you must see this place!

Look out next week for a Spotlight on Scotty’s Blue River One Stop and learn about some upcoming changes.

The Board of Directors create a Plan of Work each year that outlines the main topics and issues that the Chamber will focus on – one of these includes economic development. Please notice that a page has been added to the Chamber website under the ‘Resource’ tab that is labeled ‘Economic Development’. It contains information that I have gathered over the last several weeks and I need your help in growing it! We hope that the developers that we are meeting at Oklahoma Southeast events who are interested in the area will make their way to this page to see all that Johnston County has to offer. So please let me know if you have a building/lot/land for lease/sale that could be a spot for a new retail store, restaurant, manufacturer, or lodging!

Welcome, WarPigs Gunworks & Outdoor Solutions! We’re so glad to have you on board!
