Member Spotlight Xtreme Greenz
Many of Johnston County’s service businesses have continued operation throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. They have pushed through to continue serving our neighbors and families and they deserve a shout out! This Saturday, shout out your favorite service business (list provided on the back page of this week’s issue of the Johnston County Sentinel) and you’ll be entered to win Chamber Bucks! Here’s what you’ll need to do:
Choose as many of the listed service businesses as you would like to shout out. Find their official Facebook page or Google listing and leave them a review. Each review gets you entered to win Chamber Bucks when you screenshot the review and post to the Johnston County Chamber of Commerce Facebook page. (2 reviews = 2 entries) Use the hashtag #ServiceShoutOutSaturday!
If you have already left a review on their page, you won’t be able to do another, so create a post on the Johnston County Chamber of Commerce Facebook page, tag the business, and talk about the great service you have received, how the business has affected you (employs family, internship for students, etc.), or about the ways they contribute to the community through giving and/or volunteerism. Again, each post gives you an entry to win!
This week’s Member Spotlight is on Xtreme Greenz, owned by Tammy & Jerry Bivins, who are serial entrepreneurs. Xtreme Greenz was established on March 14, 2019 and the JCCC and owners hosted their grand opening on April 20, 2019.
Tammy battled with debilitating migraines to the point of losing her job and being hospitalized. When nothing else worked, she turned to cannabis for relief. When her headaches started to be relieved, she realized the health benefits of medical cannabis and wanted to be a part of educating and helping patients on their own journey to pain relief. Tammy said, “We did not get into this industry to make a fast buck. We are in it for the long haul.”
The decision was made to open Xtreme Greenz in Tishomingo because it is Jerry’s hometown. Xtreme Greenz was the first medical marijuana dispensary in the city. They offer a wide range of flowers, edibles, clones, seeds, and concentrates, including RSO (Rick Simpson Oil). Staff can assist with uploading applications for patients at no charge. “We want to concentrate on our little shop and make it the best it can be,” noted Bivins.
Xtreme Greenz is located at 104 S. Capitol Street and can be reached at 580-768-4278.
