Tishomingo Chevrolet still family owned and operated – Published in the Jan. 30 – Feb. 5 edition of the Johnston County Sentinel

This week’s Member Spotlight is on Tishomingo Chevrolet, which has been family owned and operated since 1992. The Northcutt family patriarch, Sandy, was owner/operator of the dealership from 1992 until 2007.  He has also been actively involved with the other family-owned business, Motor Sales, since 1963. Joel Northcutt, Sandy & Charlotte’s son, has been the dealership’s General Manager since 2007. He has worked in and out of the dealership since high school for over 30 years, learning from the ground up, from the detailing department to his current position. The Northcutt brothers, Jayson, Jonathan (Hoot), and Joel have been owners of the dealership since 2015.

The dealership offers a fantastic stock of new Chevrolet inventory along with a continual fresh stock of pre-owned inventory of all makes and models.  They have an award-winning service department led by Travis Stephens, with a great staff of ASE-certified and GM-certified automotive technicians to repair any make or model of vehicle.  No job is too big or too small.  Staff pride themselves on customer satisfaction by always putting the customer first, offering pick-up and drop-off services, and even courtesy transportation while vehicles are being repaired.  They also offer all maintenance, tires, front-end alignments, and full detail services. They have a full line of auto parts and automotive accessories with Chris Murray, Parts Manager, keeping the orders filled. Between Travis, Chris, and Joel, there is over 80 years of experience combined, and they have a great team to serve our community.

The sales staff includes Joel, Ken Lafevers, and Dean Balentine. They also have combined total sales experience of over 80 years. Tishomingo Chevrolet offers no hassle vehicle discussion, wanting customers to be fully satisfied with their purchases without feeling bombarded. They pride themselves on repeat and referral business. “As we live in and support this great town and community, we know we have to stand behind what we sell, so we do everything we can to make it an enjoyable experience with no pressure. Our motto is “We Do What it Takes!” and so we strive to meet that goal with every visit, every conversation.” The dealership currently employs 14 full time team members.

Tishomingo Chevrolet has been very involved over their many years.  They are thankful for the community who supports them and try to give back as much as possible. The dealership is a member of Texoma Chevy Dealers and the Johnston Co. Chamber and are proud to sponsor of the A+ Athlete Program and the Teacher of the Month awards.  They are supporters of the Victory Angel foundation, Reaching Out, all Johnston County 4-H and FFA programs, school systems and their various extra-curricular activities, Murray State College, and the Chickasaw Nation.

The continued growth of the community is exciting, and Tishomingo Chevrolet works to support the economy and other family businesses. In December, they purchased $1,000 in Chamber Bucks to give away during their Christmas promotion. Their logic: Buy Local, Spend Local, Support Local. What a great attitude!

Tishomingo Chevrolet is located at 1120 W. Main Street in Tishomingo. You can learn more about them at www.tishchevy.com.
